In 1975 the 1.9E engine became available in a special version of
the Opel Kadett C-Coupé, called the GT/E (in C1 version). The Opel
Kadett C GT/E was the first Opel Kadett with electronically
regulated fuel injection. This engine and the low weight of the car
made it very popular for rallying.
