OHV-motors.
OHV stand for overheads valves, Which means that the valves are in
the cylinder head. The camshaft in these OHV engines has been
positioned in the block and beside the cylinder bank this is chain
driven. The operation of the valves happens by means of long
pushrods and rockers.
This 1.0-liter engine was also predecessor and bae for later
1.1-liter and 1.2-liter the OHV engines.
CIH-motors.
CIH stand for cam in head. These engines have camshaft in the
cylinder head alongside the valves. The camshaft is chain driven
and operates the valves by means of tappets and rockers. CIH
engines in the Kadett C have mechanical tappets (1.6S, 1.9E and
20EH- engine) and hydraulic (2.0E engine).
